Accept no imitations

Okay, so this photo wasn’t taken at the time I saw it but it accurately describes my stunned stillness – a Gumtree advert advertising my services with my photos and content pulled from my website. The person in question was offering my service, undercutting me by 50%.

I reported it and the advert was taken down by Gumtree shortly after. I suppose I should see it as a compliment but really…the audacity of it! I want to raise awareness of this across all social media platforms and my blog, assuring my clients and future clients that I would never advertise my professional service on websites like Gumtree. Accept no imitations. Always ask to speak to the professional you are considering working with and challenge them on their knowledge. Ask what’s included and what you can expect to receive as part of the service. In the Gumtree advert, the offer had one price tag and listed a whole host of things included, which should take many hours for a nutritionist to design.

I design bespoke nutrition and training plans, tailor-made to my clients needs and take the time to listen carefully to what would benefit my clients most. The initial one hour consultation is just the beginning of this process. The journey and coaching relationship that forms after that is where the magic happens. Anyone can design a nutrition plan. Successfully implementing, adapting and building upon it is the real work. This is hard to do alone. Sometimes we need support  – someone to listen, empathise, motivate and be accountable to.

Please let me know if you see any other suspicious adverts out there. These were the photos stolen from my website.

My sincere apologies to my model, Kate for a photo of you falling into the wrong hands. My photos can’t be downloaded from my website but anyone can take a screenshot I guess. Reporting it to Gumtree and raising awareness are my only options with things like this.
